MMO Updates A-Go-Go!
Anarchy Online – the 17.5 game update is now on test includes a new quest series with over 40 new quests in the Penumbra Shadowlands area and a new high-level team instance involving the return of the Dust Brigade. As usual there are a bunch of quality of life changes too.
City of Heroes/Villains – Issue 10: Invasion went live a couple of days ago, The Rikti invasion is happening NOW and the Vanguard need your help!
Lord of the Rings Online – Book 10 is due sometime in August, it will add the Dúnedain city of Annúminas along with Session Play (the ability to spend points to spend limited time as a Ranger, Troll or… Chicken. It will also add a reputation system.
World of Warcraft – Patch 2.2 is still on the PTR, the main addition in 2.2 is built-in voice chat which should help PUGs immensely, guilds with scheduled raids are likely to still use Ventrilo/Teamspeak I’d imagine but it’ll help the casual groups immeasurably. Also Blizzcon is less than a week away (August 3rd and 4th) where Blizzard will likely have the new Zul’Aman instance playable as well as announcing the second expansion. (Hopefully they’ll also announce Diablo 3!).
And in a slightly bizarre turn of events, Linden Labs has officially banned gambling in Second Life, read the announcement HERE.
