My 360 has been returned from the depths of the Evil Microsoft’s Service Centre. So far things look okay after a little playtest but I’ve left it downloading some demos. We’ll see how it fares with a big playtest later. But hurray for fast customer service, 10 days from dispatch to return!
Tags: real life drama, xbox 360The nice UPS man came and took my Xbox 360 away to be repaired. It has been suffering from random, but frequent lock-ups which I see as a precursor to an evil “Red Rings of Death” incident.
Microsoft customer services were really efficient when I rang about it on Friday and a courier came today to take it to hospital.
Apparently I should get it back in around 20 days either repaired or replaced by a brand new system.

You may or may not remember the problems we had with a certain dog and it’s owners late last year, the dog attacked Jo and the Crown Prosecution Service ruled they had to move it. It went to Scunthorpe to it’s original owner. Anyway, it’s back and despite them breaking the conditions of the CPS order the police can’t/won’t do anything about it.
Sometimes you just wonder what the point of reporting stuff is.

Tags: real life drama, site newsWell yesterday was mine and Joanne’s final day at Anglian Water and it was a fairly surreal day.
“The Temps” that were leaving got goodbye gifts, we got a REALLY, REALLY cool Venus Flytrap (named Boris….. from Outer Space…..), some re-fridgerated core water bottles (which will be REALLY handy for our new found bike riding “hobby” :D) and a girlfriend for Baby Michael (who is a small orange ted with Michael across his belly) who can be drawn on then washed clean… I’m sure Baby Michael will enjoy that!
Jeannie bought us both a mug, one was VERY special because it had a du-duck on it!
All in all we were completely and utterly blown away at how much effort people spent on us and the thought involved in the gifts!
After the embarrassing ritual of being given said gifts, it was time for FOOD.
The group went to Woodcocks where we all had a drink and a wonderful meal.

I have to give a huge amount of thanks to all the people who put up with us over the last six months, especially the ones who came into regular daily contact with us, you will all be missed.

While that in itself is bad news, I’ll miss the money and the ”really-quite-cool-
to-work-with-folk” (not necessarily in that order), it does mean I’ll have ample free time again.
This means in between looking for a new job I’ll be able to add stuff to the site,
as well as improve the forums!
(Like adding all the stuff I said I would before the Internet was taken!)
Having lots of free time again means I can catch up on all the stuff I’ve missed.
Lots of stuff has happened in the last 2 months that I need to catch up on. Like the fact ArenaNet have announced Guild Wars 2 as well as the last Guild Wars expansion.
At least I have plenty of material to use for blog entries!
