The long-awaited patch 2.3 (titled "The Gods of Zul’Aman") finally went live today and brought with it some pretty major alterations to both game mechanics and the interface as well as adding and changing a whole bunch of content.

Blizzard have officially stated that patch 2.3 should go live on November the 13th. Of course this comes with the usual disclaimer that if something comes up it will be pushed back, but at least they’ve given a date.
To coincide with that, Arena Season 3 will commence the week after, from the 20th November.
With Arena Season 3 preparing to kick off when patch 2.3 goes live, Blizzard are rolling the old Season 1 items off the Arena exclusive loot list and enabling any PvPer access to them.

Vaneras over at the official World of Warcraft forums finally revealed some concrete details about their experience gain changes that are due to hit with patch 2.3.
Originally Tigole (at GC ‘07) had stated the changes would involve perhaps a 30% drop in required XP per level while enhancing gained XP from quests by 30%. However [...]
No sooner had patch 2.2 gone out the door than the Blizzard CMs started spouting off about what was coming in 2.3 (despite 2.2.2 currently being on the PTR, for testing the new Oktoberfest… I mean Brewfest event).
