I’ll be snap-happy!
Yesterday I bought a new digital camera, it’s a bridge-type camera which basically means it’s not a compact but it’s not an SLR either. The camera is a Kodak Z710 Zoom, it is a 7.1 MegaPixel (3082 × 2314) camera and has 10x Optical Zoom and 5x Digital Zoom.

I’m no camera buff, but the quality attainable with just the Auto-mode (The above image is Auto-mode/No Flash) is incredible. As well as the usual Auto-mode, where the camera uses it’s brains to determine best settings, the camera has a bunch (18 in fact) presets for various situations. Like Beach, Fireworks, Party, Night-time Landscape, Portrait etc.
It also has a PASM (Program, Aperture, Shutter and Manual) mode where you can alter the shutter speed (from 8 seconds – 1/1000 of a second) and aperture settings ( from f/2.8 – f/3.7) manually.
All in all I’m pretty impressed with it, compared to cheapo 1 - 2 MegaPixel cameras it’s a HUGE leap. Well worth the £179!
I’ll still take crap photographs though, I just can’t blame the camera anymore!
